I'm loving this lately: I saute the cabbage and carrots with onion and caraway. Top with a poached egg and a sprinkle of paprika. Serve with toast, avocado and giardiniera. Comfort food.

Lunch at Made by Bob, Cirencester

Grilled asparagus with balsamic & Parmesan at @madebybob. Really well done, but £8.50? Really?

Had a nice lunch with Rachel Demuth at Made by Bob, pretty much the best thing going in Cirencester at the moment for good food (perhaps some Cirencester peeps can correct me on that one?).

I ordered the asparagus with parmesan and balsamic, which in retrospect was pretty meagre for lunch. Luckily Rachel shared with me some of her focaccia with Imam Bayildi, a Turkish dish of braised aubergine, onion, garlic and tomato. I'd never had before and now I totally want to make it. Rachel informs there's a recipe in Green Seasons. Imam Biyaldi coming soon.

A lunch of "P"'s! And my idea of comfort food, and as I was having an unusually stressful day, this lunch really hit the spot (the spot that needed cuddles).

A worthwhile use of the first asparagus of the season.

Cauliflower Pea Omelet with Feta, Parsley & Mint

Cauliflower & pea open-face omelet with feta, parsley & mint. #Dinner.

&My new favourite omelet? Maybe. Here's the gist: sauteed red onion, cauliflower, garlic and peas with lemon zest, parsley and mint. Pour in the egg and swirl it around. Top with feta. Put under the broiler / grill for a few minutes. Service with more parsley and mint, rocket, avocado, sourdough toast and a lemon wedge. Rocked my world!

Oh yeah, this omelet is open-faced.

Sautéed leeks and cabbage with caraway, fennel and coriander seeds. Topped with a poached egg and a sprinkle I paprika. Avocado and sourdough toast on the side, plus a little giardiniera. Rocked my world.

Tim was here for a visit and knowing how much he likes my Indian, I kicked out all the old favourites. The red lentil dal is always a hit. The cabbage salad is basically this Indian Cucumber and Coconut Salad but with cabbage and carrots for the veggies. Seriously the perfect meal after a long week of many meals out and numerous cheese plates.

Recipes:
